Design & Make combines physical materials and intelligent guidance in one system. One does not work without the other.

HARDWARE - THE MATERIAL SET

Everything apprentices put their hands on. The electronics set contains an Arduino Nano IoT 33 microcontroller, two L293D motor controllers, four DC motors, an on switch as well as a 9V block battery and wiring. The 3D-printing set delivers all housing and functional parts - chassis, covers, Mecanum wheel components, and screw connections - printed in PLA and ready to use. In the bundle, everything comes together: electronics, 3D-printed parts, assembly instructions, and access to the AI Mentor with video links for independent completion.

Intelligent guidance through every project phase — on two levels. The AI Mentor leads apprentices through 15 structured missions, from the first CAD sketch to the finished IoT control. Adaptive learning paths adjust to prior knowledge; automatic internal differentiation ensures nobody is over- or under-challenged. Subject-matter-reviewed content instead of free-form AI hallucinations. Instructors are relieved of up to 80% of standard questions.

In addition, MLS is used - the "Mobile Learning in Smart Factories" learning platform of the Nachwuchsstiftung Maschinenbau. MLS connects training company and vocational school on a shared platform: trainers create individual tasks, apprentices work on them on any internet-enabled device, regardless of location. Learning-objective checks such as multiple-choice tests, terminology quizzes, and cloze texts document progress transparently. More than 100 companies and vocational schools already use MLS - from Deutsche Bahn to Rolls-Royce. AI Mentor and MLS work hand in hand: the Mentor accompanies the project, MLS secures the transfer into the professional context.

THE LEARNING OUTCOME IS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE

The end result is a fully functional Mecanum Rover, controlled by smartphone and connected via the Arduino IoT Cloud. A product apprentices proudly hold in their hands - built through digital design in Autodesk Fusion, 3D printing, manual assembly, electronics assembly, and IoT programming. Ideal for project weeks, training centers, university lab courses, or specialist lessons in CAD, CAM, Arduino, and IoT.

Five days, up to 8 participants, fully supported. We come to you - with everything that is needed: loaner equipment such as laptops and 3D printers, complete material sets, AI Mentor licenses, and MLS access.
